Cubeframe
Criminal Code of Cubeframe
Subject to the Constitution of Cubeframe
#Preamble
This Criminal Code sets out every offense on Cubeframe, the tier of each offense, and the punishment a member receives for committing it for the first time, the second time and every time after. It is the Criminal Code referred to in the Constitution of Cubeframe, and it is applied in the same way to every member.
#Part I·General Provisions
§ I.1 Authority
This Code is the Criminal Code referred to in the Constitution of Cubeframe. It is subject to the Constitution, and any part of it that conflicts with the Constitution has no effect.
§ I.2 Scope
This Code applies everywhere on Cubeframe: in every channel, thread, ticket and voice channel, and to anything visible from the server, including profile pictures, banners, usernames, display names, nicknames, statuses and bios. An offense applies outside Cubeframe only where this Code says so.
§ I.3 Effect, not intention
Offenses are judged by what a message or action says and does, not by what the member says they meant. Adding “jk” or a similar remark afterwards does not change this. Where an offense depends on a purpose, such as embarrassing or silencing someone, that purpose is judged from what the member said and did.
§ I.4 Equal application
This Code applies equally to every member, including staff, the President and the Owner. The only exception is the Owner’s advertising exemption under § V.14 of the Constitution.
§ I.5 Only listed offenses and punishments
No member may be punished for conduct that is not an offense under this Code, or with any punishment other than one set out in it.
§ I.6 One act, one offense
Where a single act falls under more than one offense, it is punished only under the offense with the highest tier. Where the tiers are equal, it is punished under the more specific offense.
§ I.7 Definitions
In this Code:
(a)“warning” means a formal record that a member committed an offense, with no other restriction;
(b)“timeout” means a Discord timeout for the stated length, during which the member cannot send messages, react or speak in voice channels;
(c)“ban” means removal from Cubeframe that lasts until it is cancelled on appeal;
(d)“offense record” means the record of every offense a member has committed;
(e)“active offense” means an offense on a member’s offense record that has not been wiped;
(f)“wiped offense” has the meaning given in § II.5;
(g)“staff” means the Owner and the Moderators. The President is not staff; and
(h)“protected characteristic” means race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation.
#Part II·Tiers, Punishments and Wiping
§ II.1 Tiers
Every offense in this Code has a tier from 1 to 5. Tier 1 is the least serious and Tier 5 is the most serious.
§ II.2 Punishment ladders
The punishment for an offense depends on its tier and on how many times the member has committed that offense, as set out in the table below. The last column shows when an offense of each tier is wiped.
| Tier | 1st offense | 2nd offense | 3rd offense | 4th offense | 5th offense | Wiped after |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 1 | Warning | Warning | 1-hour timeout | 1-day timeout | 1-week timeout | 60 days |
| Tier 2 | Warning | 1-hour timeout | 3-day timeout | 2-week timeout | — | 120 days |
| Tier 3 | 1-day timeout | 1-week timeout | 2-week timeout | Ban | — | 120 days |
| Tier 4 | 2-week timeout | Ban | — | — | — | Never |
| Tier 5 | Ban | — | — | — | — | Never |
§ II.3 Counting offenses
Each offense in this Code is counted separately. A member’s first offense of a kind receives the first punishment on its tier’s ladder, the second receives the second, and so on. Only active offenses with the same offense number are counted. For example, an active Offense 10.1 does not count toward Offense 10.2.
§ II.4 Beyond the ladder
Each further offense after the last step on a ladder receives the last step again.
§ II.5 Wiping
An offense is wiped once the period shown in the table has passed, counted from the date it was received. A wiped offense stays on the member’s offense record and can still be seen, but it is treated as old and no longer counts toward the punishment ladder.
§ II.6 Example of wiping
A member who commits Offense 10.1 receives a warning. If they commit Offense 10.1 again 30 days later, the first offense is still active, so they receive the second punishment. If they commit it again 70 days after the first offense instead, the first offense has been wiped, so they receive the first punishment again.
§ II.7 Reports to Discord
Where this Code says an offense is reported to Discord Trust & Safety, the report is made in addition to the punishment.
#Part III·Offenses Against Safety and Respect
#Chapter 1·Threats and Harassment
Offense 1.1 Harassment Tier 3
A member commits harassment if they keep directing attention at a person after that person has made clear they want it to stop. A person makes this clear by saying so, by blocking the member, or by asking staff to step in. Harassment includes following them from channel to channel, messaging or pinging them again, repeatedly raising a subject to provoke them, and repeatedly mocking them. This offense applies on Cubeframe and outside it, including on other servers, on other platforms and in direct messages, whether or not the person is a member. The following are not harassment:
(a)a single rude message;
(b)replying to a person in a public conversation they are taking part in;
(c)disagreeing with a person, or criticizing their ideas, in a discussion; and
(d)criticizing the Owner, the President, a Moderator or a candidate in their public role, as protected by Article III of the Constitution.
Offense 1.2 Inciting harassment Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they call on, encourage or recruit others to harass a specific person, on Cubeframe or anywhere else. Criticizing a person or a decision, or saying publicly that you disagree with someone, is not this offense.
Offense 1.3 Threats Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they tell a person that they, or someone else, will cause them harm. Harm includes harm to the person, their family, their account, their belongings or their standing on Cubeframe. It is an offense whether or not the member could actually carry out the threat, and a message is judged by how a reasonable reader would understand it. The following are not threats:
(a)saying that you will report someone to staff or to Discord, appeal a decision, vote, petition, or call for someone’s removal under the Constitution;
(b)saying that you will block someone, stop talking to them, or leave;
(c)statements about actions inside a game that the people involved are playing together, such as raiding a base or winning a PvP fight, as long as they refer only to the game; and
(d)obvious figures of speech that no reasonable reader would take as a statement that harm will be done, such as “I’ll kill you if you spoil the ending”.
#Chapter 2·Private Information and Extortion
Offense 2.1 Threatening to expose private information Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they threaten to share another person’s private information, as described in Offense 2.2.
Offense 2.2 Exposing private information Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they share another person’s private information without that person’s clear consent. Private information includes a real name, address, school or workplace, phone number, email address, IP address, and accounts the person has not linked on Cubeframe. Information being findable elsewhere does not make sharing it allowed. The following are not this offense:
(a)information the person has made public about themselves on Cubeframe, unless they have since asked for it not to be shared;
(b)the public channel, public profile or business details of a content creator, server or organisation; and
(c)sending information privately to staff to report a concern.
Offense 2.3 Extortion Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they use information, images or access to accounts to pressure a person into giving money, content, favours or silence, whether or not they actually have what they claim.
#Chapter 3·Self-Harm and Suicide
Offense 3.1 Glorifying or describing self-harm Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they glorify self-harm or suicide, meaning they present it as good, desirable, admirable or a solution, or if they post a graphic description of it, meaning a detailed description of methods or injuries. The following are not this offense:
(a)talking about one’s own experiences or feelings, or asking for support;
(b)discussing self-harm or suicide without graphic detail, including to raise awareness or share support resources; and
(c)mentioning it in news, history or fiction without graphic detail or glorification.
Offense 3.2 Using self-harm as an insult Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they use self-harm or suicide as an insult or put-down aimed at another person, such as telling someone to “kys”. A remark a member makes about themselves, such as “this level makes me want to die”, is not this offense.
Offense 3.3 Encouraging self-harm Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they urge, pressure or request that a person harm themselves or end their life in a way a reasonable reader would take as a real request, such as by repeating it, suggesting methods, or directing it at someone who has expressed distress. A one-off insult of this kind is Offense 3.2.
Protection. A member seeking support is never punished under this Chapter. A member who is worried about someone should contact staff rather than handling it alone.
#Chapter 4·Recordings and Private Conversations
Offense 4.1 Exposing private conversations Tier 2
A member commits this offense if they post, where others can see it, a screenshot or recording of a private conversation, from Cubeframe or from direct messages, without the consent of the other people in it, in a way that exposes, mocks or calls out what someone said, or that invites others to pile on. The following are not this offense:
(a)posting it with the consent of everyone whose words are shown;
(b)sending it privately to staff; and
(c)posting only your own messages.
Offense 4.2 Recording without notice Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they record, or screen record, a voice channel without first telling everyone in it. Anyone who joins after the recording has started must be told when they join. Recording only yourself, or a voice channel nobody else is in, is not this offense.
Protection. Sending evidence privately to staff is always allowed and is never an offense under this Chapter.
#Chapter 5·Discrimination and Bigotry
Offense 5.1 Discriminatory remarks Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they attribute negative characteristics to people because of a protected characteristic, such as through stereotypes or claims that a group is less trustworthy, intelligent or worthy than others. The following are not this offense:
(a)describing your own identity or experiences;
(b)discussing discrimination, or quoting discriminatory content in order to report or criticize it;
(c)respectful questions or factual discussion about a protected characteristic; and
(d)criticizing an idea, organisation or public figure, as long as it does not attribute negative characteristics to people because of a protected characteristic.
Offense 5.2 Slurs Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they use a slur, meaning a word used to insult or demean people because of a protected characteristic. Quoting a slur in a report to staff is not this offense, and nor is using a word in an ordinary meaning that has nothing to do with people.
Offense 5.3 Hateful attacks Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they dehumanize a person or group because of a protected characteristic, or call for violence against them, their exclusion, or the removal of their rights. Dehumanizing includes comparing people to animals, diseases, dirt or objects, or saying that they should not exist.
Application. This Chapter applies whoever the target is, and is judged by what the message says, not by what the member claims they felt while writing it.
#Chapter 6·Sexual Conduct and Protection of Minors
Offense 6.1 Romantic solicitation Tier 2
A member commits this offense if they use Cubeframe to seek a romantic or sexual relationship, including pickup attempts and “looking for a gf/bf” posts. Mentioning that you have a partner, or talking about relationships in general, is not this offense.
Offense 6.2 Flirtatious messages Tier 2
A member commits this offense if they direct messages at another member that express romantic or sexual interest in them, such as pickup lines, asking them out, or calling them romantic pet names. Ordinary compliments, such as on a build or a video, and friendly affection between friends, such as “love you bro”, are not this offense.
Offense 6.3 Sexual messages Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they direct sexual messages at another member, meaning messages that describe sexual acts, describe someone’s body in a sexual way, or propose sexual activity, or if they take part in sexual roleplay.
Offense 6.4 Sexual conduct involving a minor Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they take part in any sexual behaviour involving a member who is, or appears to be, under 18, regardless of claimed ages or where it happened. The offense is reported to Discord Trust & Safety.
Offense 6.5 Seeking out a minor Tier 5
An adult commits this offense if they seek out a member they know or suspect to be a minor for a romantic or sexual purpose. The offense is reported to Discord Trust & Safety.
Offense 6.6 Posing as younger to approach minors Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they pass themselves off as younger than they are in order to get close to younger members. The offense is reported to Discord Trust & Safety.
Direct messages. Conduct under Offenses 6.1 to 6.3 that continues in direct messages after the members met on Cubeframe counts as the same offense.
#Part IV·Content Offenses
#Chapter 7·NSFW and Disturbing Content
Offense 7.1 Sexually suggestive content Tier 2
A member commits this offense if they post sexually suggestive content, meaning content whose evident purpose is sexual without being explicit, such as images of people in sexualized poses or underwear, or emojis or text used for a sexual meaning, or display it in their profile picture, banner, username, display name, nickname, status or bio. Swimwear or clothing shown in a non-sexual context is not this offense.
Offense 7.2 Explicit sexual content Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they post or display sexual content, meaning images, videos or detailed descriptions of sexual acts, or images or videos showing exposed genitals, breasts or buttocks.
Offense 7.3 Graphic violence and shock content Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they post or display realistic content showing serious injury, mutilation, death, or cruelty to people or animals, including gore and shock content. The following are not this offense:
(a)violence in video games, such as Minecraft;
(b)cartoon or clearly fictional violence without realistic gore; and
(c)news reporting without graphic images.
Application. Posting content behind a spoiler, or posting a link to it, counts the same as posting it directly.
#Chapter 8·Religious Debate
Offense 8.1 Religious debate Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they start or continue a debate about religion, meaning an argument about whether a religion or belief is true, right, wrong or better than another, whatever their position. A member who is asked to drop the topic must do so. Mentioning your own religion, a religious holiday or custom, or answering a question about it, is not this offense.
#Chapter 9·Piracy and Plagiarism
Offense 9.1 Passing off another’s work Tier 2
A member commits this offense if they present someone else’s video, build, map, thumbnail, texture pack or writing as their own, on Cubeframe or in an application to Cubeframe. Using someone else’s work with credit or with their permission, or making something inspired by it, is not this offense. In addition, a creator or partner application built on work that is not the applicant’s is refused, and an applicant who does this knowingly loses the right to apply again.
Offense 9.2 Piracy Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they share pirated resources, meaning paid or licensed software, plugins, assets or media obtained without paying or without permission, or links, files or instructions for getting them, or if they encourage others to obtain them. This includes cracked launchers, leaked plugins and paid assets. Sharing free or open-source content, or discussing piracy without helping anyone obtain pirated content, is not this offense.
#Part V·Chat Conduct Offenses
#Chapter 10·Spam and Pinging
Offense 10.1 Flooding Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they disrupt a channel by flooding it. Flooding includes:
(a)sending the same or nearly the same message repeatedly;
(b)splitting a message into many pieces, such as one word per message, so that it fills the channel;
(c)posting and deleting repeatedly;
(d)walls of text or emoji posted to fill the channel rather than to be read, and rapid images or reactions;
(e)mass pinging, meaning pinging several people in one message or sending the same message to one person after another, and ghost pings;
(f)repeated bot commands, voice and soundboard disruption, and automation; and
(g)a run of messages that say nothing, such as several “a”, “lol”, “hi”, single letters or keysmashes in a row, whether they arrive in five seconds or over an hour.
Flooding is judged by its effect on the channel, not by why the messages were sent, and chasing levels, coins or a message count is not a defence. Short replies that are part of a conversation, such as a single “lol” at a joke or a “hi” when joining, and long messages written to be read, are not flooding.
Offense 10.2 Misusing pings Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they ping someone without a valid reason. The valid reasons are: replying to them, answering a question they asked, picking up a conversation they are already part of after a gap, telling them something they asked to be told, and mentioning a role in a channel where that role is meant to be pinged. No more than two people may be pinged in one message, and only when both are already in the conversation.
Offense 10.3 Misusing staff pings Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they ping staff when nothing needs staff urgently, ping the staff role more than once for the same matter, ping individual staff members instead of the role, ping staff to ask a question the channel can answer, chase an application, ask for a role, appeal a punishment or follow up a report already seen, ping staff as a joke, or move the matter into a staff member’s direct messages when a ping goes unanswered. The Owner is pinged on the same terms.
Valid staff pings. Staff may be pinged once, in the channel where it is happening, for a rule break in progress, a raid, a scam, malware, NSFW content, or someone who appears to be in danger. A member who keeps pinging someone after being asked to stop commits Offense 1.1.
#Chapter 11·Channels, Tickets and Language
Offense 11.1 Ignoring channel topics Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they continue posting off topic in a channel after a member of staff, or a bot acting for staff, has asked them to move to another channel. A brief off-topic remark within an ongoing conversation is not this offense unless it continues after such a request.
Offense 11.2 Ticket abuse Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they open a ticket as a joke, to test the bot, to say nothing or to see what happens; open several tickets for the same matter; open a new ticket because the first was not answered quickly enough; or use a ticket to reach someone who is not staff, to carry on an argument, or to press staff over a decision already made.
Offense 11.3 Non-English communication Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they communicate in a language other than English in any channel, including voice channels. The following are not this offense:
(a)names, and single words or short phrases in common use, such as greetings;
(b)quoting text in another language together with an English translation; and
(c)titles of songs, games or other works.
Tickets. Everything said in a ticket is subject to every offense in this Code. A report a member knows to be false is Offense 16.1.
#Chapter 12·Advertising and Begging
Offense 12.1 Advertising Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they promote servers, channels, content, products or services outside the channels meant for it, whether their own or someone else’s. Promoting means encouraging others to join, subscribe to, follow, buy or visit something. This includes invite links, referral and affiliate links, and promotion placed in a nickname. The following are not advertising:
(a)a member’s Discord status or bio;
(b)sharing a link to answer a question, or as part of a conversation, without encouraging others to join, subscribe, follow or buy; and
(c)naming your own channel or server when someone asks for it.
Offense 12.2 Advertising by direct message Tier 2
A member commits this offense if they send advertising, as described in Offense 12.1, to a member by direct message, or message a member to recruit them to another server or community, unless that member asked for it.
Offense 12.3 Begging Tier 1
A member commits this offense if they beg for roles, ranks, XP, money, Nitro, giveaway entries, subscribers, views or free work. Begging means asking more than once, or continuing after being told no, including asking staff for a role or promotion. Offering to subscribe to someone in return for a subscription is begging even if done once. Asking once in the channel meant for it, or once anywhere if no such channel exists, and accepting the answer, is not begging, and nor is entering a giveaway.
Owner’s exemption. Offenses 12.1 and 12.2 do not apply to the Owner, as set out in § V.14 of the Constitution.
#Part VI·Offenses Against Server Integrity
#Chapter 13·Malware, Scams, Raids and Exploits
Offense 13.1 Exploiting bugs Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they knowingly exploit a bug in Cubeframe’s bots, permissions or systems, including duplicating currency, farming rewards through a bug, or bypassing AutoMod, whether or not they found the bug themselves. Triggering a bug by accident, or finding one without using it, is not this offense. Members should report any bug they find to staff.
Offense 13.2 Scams Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they run a scam of any kind, including fake giveaways, fraudulent trades, or impersonating staff to obtain accounts or payments.
Offense 13.3 Malware and phishing Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they distribute malware, phishing links, IP grabbers, token loggers, or crash or lag exploits.
Offense 13.4 Raids Tier 5
A member commits this offense if they organise, join or encourage a raid, as defined in § I.2(h) of the Constitution, against Cubeframe or any other server, or recruit members on Cubeframe for one.
#Chapter 14·Economy Integrity
Offense 14.1 Economy farming Tier 2
A member commits this offense if they farm coins, levels, milestones or shop items using alternate accounts, self-bots or automated typing.
Offense 14.2 Real-money trading Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they buy, sell or trade coins, levels, milestones or shop items for real money, Nitro, game accounts, or anything outside Cubeframe.
Reclaiming. Items obtained through these offenses may also be taken back under § VII.5.
#Chapter 15·Impersonation and False Authority
Offense 15.1 False authority Tier 2
A member who is not staff commits this offense if they threaten anyone with a warning, timeout, kick or ban, or invent a rule, or cite one that plainly does not apply, in order to silence or pressure someone. Telling someone truthfully that they broke a rule, and which one, is not an offense, and nor is citing a rule in good faith that turns out not to apply.
Offense 15.2 Impersonating a member, creator or bot Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they impersonate another member, a content creator or a bot, meaning they present themselves, through their username, display name, avatar or messages, in a way likely to make others believe they are that person or bot. Clearly labelled parody, and having a similar name or avatar by coincidence where no one is misled, are not this offense.
Offense 15.3 Impersonating staff Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they impersonate a member of staff in the way described in Offense 15.2, or claim to be staff when they are not.
#Chapter 16·Framing and False Reports
Offense 16.1 False reports Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they report a member to staff for something they know that member did not do. A report made in good faith that turns out to be mistaken is not this offense.
Offense 16.2 Baiting Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they deliberately provoke or trick another member into breaking a rule in order to get them punished, such as by asking them to post forbidden content and then reporting them. Disagreeing or arguing with someone is not baiting.
Offense 16.3 Fabricating evidence Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they fabricate or manipulate evidence, such as forged screenshots or edited logs, to get a member punished by Cubeframe or by Discord.
#Chapter 17·Punishment Evasion
Offense 17.1 Assisting evasion Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they help another member avoid a timeout, ban or other punishment, such as by giving them access to an account, posting messages for them, or helping them get back in while banned.
Offense 17.2 Punishment evasion Tier 4
A member commits this offense if they use an alternate account to avoid a timeout, ban or other punishment. Using an alternate account while not under any punishment is not this offense. In addition, the punishment that was evaded starts again in full from the time the evasion is discovered.
#Chapter 18·Discord’s Terms of Service
Offense 18.1 Other breaches of Discord’s Terms of Service Tier 3
A member commits this offense if they break Discord’s Terms of Service or Community Guidelines in a way that is not covered by another offense in this Code. The specific term that was broken must be named. The offense may also be reported to Discord Trust & Safety.
#Chapter 19·Abuse of Moderation Powers
Offense 19.1 Abuse of moderation powers Tier 3
A member of staff commits this offense if they give or threaten a punishment because of a personal dislike, a grudge, an argument they are part of, or a favour to a friend, or use their authority as leverage in a disagreement when no rule was broken, such as by saying “drop it or I will mute you”. In addition, the punishment given in this way has no effect, and the offense is misconduct under § XVI.3 of the Constitution.
The Owner. The original version of this offense, as published on October 25, 2026, always continues to apply to the Owner. Any change to it must say so, and where the original version is stricter than a changed version, the original version applies to the Owner, as set out in § XX.9 of the Constitution.
#Part VII·Non-Punitive Measures and Procedure
§ VII.1 Responsibility for accounts
A member is responsible for everything sent from their account. That it was sent by a sibling, a friend, a shared login or an unattended session is not a defence, and neither is saying afterwards that it was not them.
§ VII.2 Compromised accounts
Where the evidence clearly shows on its own that an account was compromised, staff may lift a punishment on appeal. Being compromised does not by itself require a punishment to be lifted. Members should secure their accounts, turn on two-factor authentication, and tell staff as soon as they lose control of an account. Telling staff before staff find out is taken into account.
§ VII.3 Age requirement
Members must be at least 13 years old, or older where their country sets a higher minimum for using Discord. A member found to be under the minimum is removed and reported to Discord. Removal under this section is not a punishment and is not recorded as an offense, and the member is welcome back once they are old enough.
§ VII.4 Misstating age
Misstating one’s age is not an offense, except as set out in Offense 6.6. A member who claimed to be old enough but is not is removed under § VII.3, whatever age they claimed.
§ VII.5 Reclaiming items
Staff may take back any balance, item, level or role obtained through a bug, a farm, or a trade forbidden by Chapter 14. Taking it back is not a punishment, is not recorded as an offense, and may not be appealed on the ground that the member had earned it.
§ VII.6 Notice
Every punishment must name the offense number it is given under, and the member is notified by the bot in a direct message. A punishment that names no offense has no effect and is undone on appeal.
§ VII.7 Freedom of speech
A message that commits no offense in this Code may not be punished. No member may be warned, timed out or banned for an opinion staff dislike, for disagreeing with staff, or for criticising how Cubeframe is run.
§ VII.8 Appeals
Every member may appeal a warning, timeout or ban by replying to the bot’s direct message, and staff respond the same way. Members are entitled to know which offense they committed and what evidence was used, unless revealing it would expose the person who reported them. Arguing with a Moderator in chat is not an appeal. Appeals are also governed by Article IV of the Constitution.
§ VII.9 Escalation to the Owner
A member may send !owner at any point to escalate their case to the Owner. No one may block or punish a member for doing so. Once a case is escalated, other staff can no longer respond and the decision rests with the Owner.
§ VII.10 Changes to this Code
This Code may be changed only as set out in Article XV of the Constitution. The parts of this Code listed in § XX.7 of the Constitution are protected: they may be changed only if the change passes a Public Vote and the Owner approves it, as set out in § XX.8 of the Constitution. Protected offenses are marked in the index.
#Annex·Index of Offenses
Every offense in this Code, with its tier. The punishment for each tier is set out in § II.2. Offenses marked as protected may be changed only with a Public Vote and the Owner’s approval, under § XX.8 of the Constitution.
